Power in the name, there is power by Paradise Community Church

Isn't there something beautiful when you call out that name
Isn't there power amazing when in unity we say
Jesus Your love upon that hill means we are saved
Jesus there is power in Your name

Majesty, power and love
Holiness, peace from above
With me in mind, Lord You took the blame
Jesus there is power in Your name

There is power in the blood
Sin and shame, they're gone in Jesus name
There is power in the blood
And that power lives in me

There is power in the blood
No more sin and shame, they're gone in Jesus name
There is power in the blood
And that power lives in me

Jesus Your love upon that hill means we are saved
Jesus Your love upon that hill means we are saved
Jesus there is power in Your name

I was really tired today. With stomach cramps plus sickness and hand cramps. Haha no time to update.

Rockclimbing training is super fun :D Yay, did techniques then free climbing where i managed to make it to 12th panel then dropped. Because body couldnt make it into a horizontal position. I want to do well in rockclimbing, I want to train my muscles to be strong :D And i've already set goals for my fitness levels. Hooray. Chem period at lab today was uh, ok.

Imagineering, Biology(Enduring Understanding) to be done over the weekend. Oh and math exploration too. Gah. Tasks and assignments are starting to pour in. First week of core curriculum is over. I still have two more years worth of it. Haha I will survive, I hope.

Ok got into rockclimbing :D Haha going for training tomorrow. Can't wait :D Got new seating arrangements yesterday, sitting with Star, Yi Jun, Shreya and Thai Yong. Quite nice (: I feel sleepy everyday. Oh Kompol, XY and I skipped third period pe today, because we went for PA duty. Hooray. I slept when I got home. First house meeting at PT today. DRACO :D

Lessons have been alright so far, I think my favourite subject this year will be Language Arts :D PE wasn't that bad today, I actually enjoyed it. Run was good, chionged the last 200 plus metres and overtook many :D But got a really bad annoying painful migraine after that, which felt horrible. Today was the only girl in a guy dominated table. They are amusing. Cat High. Miaow. Super evil! But I'd rather sit with girls still. Ate a lot. Think I'm finally getting fatter, hooray.

Life in the IP has definitely been enriching so far. Although still not very used to the uniform. Haha. The things they teach here, the values, the life skills, i don't think i could have learnt them in tkgs. The values are taught through self reflection, how a task is carried out by ourselves. The teachers answer your questions with more questions. Which i think is cool. Bidding for items with toy money during civics taught me what carpe diem truly is. To seize opportunities and not to be overly cautious or impulsive. Or we would have useless paper money left at the end of the game. When everyone was saving up for the super prize they thought they were going to bid for at the end of the auction, it went to the group which had spent the most money. One day task, assignment extension eh! So wasted. There was a group that bid super high for a mystery item to find that it was a packet of tissue.

Bridging is now over and tomorrow real lessons start. Oh well. I'm excited yet wondering whether I'll be able to keep up with the pace of learning. Ok i trust my intelligence level. Whee. I like my classmates and classroom a lot. When we die, we die together. Haha. And the sofa! It's a really nice place. Oh by the way for integrated humans we're taking geog and lit this year for core module. And i'm taking an option module on a short history of 20th century warfare. Luckily i got what i wanted haha. Next year i'm taking history and econs and option module global connections, which was what i wanted as well.

I like my new cca which is really really fun :) all the faders, buttons. And Kompol entertains mE in the pa room. Super funny that boy. But annoying at the same time. Haha.

And i know why i chose prayer mtg over bbq. Simple reason. Better is one day in your courts than thousands elsewhere. Zyann's msn nick reminded me :) I love Megalife!

This was written on my phone and transferred to the computer. And now my current mood sucks. Because I'm pissed at someone who is oppressive, dicatative and plain annoying.

I am human.

Been online, but was under scrutiny of my mom, hence the lack of blog posts. Bridging curriculum week has been fun! Oh and had my second Higher Chinese lesson today. My teacher is super on! We handed up our compositions yesterday and they came back marked today. I am determined to study hard for chinese this year :D I shall not be slack and I shall listen in class. And be a good girl (not like Cedric, self proclaimed good boy who is not). v12 went out of school today to parkway, 21 of us, minus 5 PRC, 2 scholars and Kompol. I love my class, we are the only non-gender divided class, which was super evident during electives walkabout. I'm proud of my class :D We have fun taking turns to hog the sofa.

Had the first PA duty today, went with Kompol (so called friendly neighbour) and Xinying. Super fun watching all the people singing the anthem. The sound mixer is way cool too. Think PA is a cool cca, and I don't regret signing up for it. But also want to join rock climbing too.

Tie day tomorrow! Feel like doing duty again :D I like my school song. Electives bidding is driving me mad. How annoying.

Oh the Igloo is fun, pool, darts, foosball :D :D Think Amos and Cedric waste their lives there. Haha. But its a nice place.

I had a really nice weekend, hooray :D

Do I look so much like someone from JC? How different am I from you? It's just the uniform, friends. I am still the same Janel as before. Well maybe a bit different, because of changed perspectives. But it's been only two weeks in a different school. I am still lame, retarded, your Mrs P grammar corrector, I love eating. Oh by the way I grew fatter but Xiao Qi thinks the contrary.

Oh in the canteen I got stares, "oh my gosh"es, "it's you!" Which were expected, but so typical. Which leaves me thinking. Those people who say I miss you, do they really mean it, or are they saying it just for the sake of doing so? I know some people are genuine :D

Going back to tkgs felt nice, when I saw all my old friends. But weird being the only ones in different uniform? Two whites plus daphne in a sea of green. Annabelle gave me a trolley ride :D

Helmsman week is over, definitely learnt a lot. Think I learnt more this week than what I could have learnt in an average two months in secondary school. Lifeskills, how to think/feel/see/hear/touch out of the box, presentation, body language, innovation processes.

I think changing contexts and metaphors really played a big part in our food project. We were so busy trying to think of an idea, until after AH visit we did metaphors and went absolutely crazy, scribbling on flip chart paper with multicoloured crayons and having a blast of a time generating ideas. Bee and merry go round were our inspiration. We finished metaphors really fast. One of the best exercises I've ever done. Our group is really proud of our spasness. We had fun and produced quite zai concepts. Whee.

Proj didn't go smoothly on day one, day two we were too tired to have meeting, so the real breakthrough came on day three, when our proj was due on day four. After our spasness, we got really creative. Ice cream cone salad! (: Got it over and done with, and Adriel and I went to buy fruits at ntuc. Stopped by videoezy to try to buy Man On Fire (NC16) but apparently they have strict rules. Went for vjcell after that. Which was interesting, and Zheng Yi and Sam Oh came to crash VJ.

Presentation for project today, we had a good time making our fruit salad and I'm glad to say I'm proud of my group! (: Because we never knew that we could get what we attained. And tell you, go on stage cut cake, take pictures super paiseh.

Went back to tkgs. To the greetings of screaming banshees. Yay :D and Wadee was being a total entusiastic retard. Shall post something else later.

Hello! I love Thaddeus (the OG..and ok i also love the sec one naughty monkey too), especially Though! (: Thanks for being such a great OG. Shushan, Cheng Kai, Cheng Wei, Syazana, Geraldine, Star, Daryl, Henry, Hansen, Huan Jik, Ziyang, Eric, Brij, Brandon, Benjamin. Yesterday was really, fun, dunking people in the sea. I was the first girl to get dunked. The guys just ran up to me and carried me. Super funny. Figured out tug of war is a really draining activity. Endurace. We won! (: After lunch went cycling (with CK, Daryl and Geraldine) all the way to Changi Airport from East Coast. The planes at the airstrip were nice, brought back so many memories of Medan.

Today was the start of Helmsman Innovation and Enterprise week. Learnt good stuff on innovation. And surprise, we're going to the National Museum tomorrow. As part of "changing contexts". It's not your average museum tour. Thursday going Alexandra Hospital! Wheeeheee.

Students lounge is cool, went with Amos and Joann. They have pool table, table football (played with Eric, Amos, Joann and other random people) and Playstation. Happening :D

But projects are coming. 2 on the first day of school. How nice. But Ip still beats staying in sec school. Teachers are cooler.

Welcome to IP.

Your view on yourself:

You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are friendly to everybody and don't like conflict. Because you're so cheerful and fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education

You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:

You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.

How do you view success:

You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:

You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

so true :D Go here!

Tuesday, January 02, 2007

As I go to school tomorrow, there'll be orientation :D New people, new experiences. And of course, I'll miss tkgs people, exclassmates/basketball/cell & other random friends.

You won't lose me , because I still do love you. Guess what you said today was right? Don't want our feelings to get in the way of our friendship. Don't want to spoil what we have built. And even though certain feelings may change, you're still my best friend, and I'll be there for you (:

This was supposed to be completed last year, but I saved it as a draft. So here's year 2006.

1. What did you do this year that you've never done before? Went out of the country without my family to Medan, a thouroughly enriching and life-changing experience which changed perspectives. And hmmm some stuff that doesn't need to be mentioned here.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Well, I've never really believed in resolutions. I think the end of the year is a time to reflect, see what went wrong, and look towards the next year, how to make it better. Not resolutions, promises that may not be kept. Things that you forget in a week.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth this year? Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die? Nope.

5. What countries did you visit this year? Indonesia! (Medan!)

6. What would you like to have in the next year that you lacked this year? Determination, motivation, the discipline & the inspiration to study! Hahahaha. And good time management skills & neatness.

7. What date from this year will remain etched upon your memory - and why? 14-20 Nov, 20 Dec , 31 Dec

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting into IP

9. What was your biggest failure of the year? Failing to love and appreciate certain people.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Yup.

11. What was the best thing you bought this year? I don't know and I don't care (:

12. Whose behavior merited celebration (a public or private personality)? Many people, like Daniel (Medan)- who was sacrificing, all the people that taught me how to love, all the people who inspired me, the list is countless.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Many la.

14. Where did most of your money go this year? Fooood! Yum.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about this year? Medan, megalife, time spent with those I love.

16. What song will always remind you of this year? I don't know.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
- happier or sadder?
Happier.

21. Did you fall in love this year? Hmm. Nice question.

22. How many one-night stands did you have this year? NONE! I'm a very very good girl.

23. What was your favorite TV program for the year? I think it was Little Britain & Brainiac

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Nope, and I don't hate anyone by the way, not for the past year.

25. What was the best book you read this year? The Bible, what else can beat it (: In terms of wisdom and knowledge. Actually, in everything.

26. What was your favorite film of the year? Lake House

27. How would you describe your personal fashion concept this year? Comfortable

28. Whom did you miss this year? A lot of people.

30. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned for this year.
Depend on Jesus & have faith to believe! Know that there are people there for you, who do care for you and love you :D And never underestimate the power of a smile, of simple things. Get to know yourself, because you can know the whole world, but if you don't know yourself, you're nothing.

Yesterday was hmmm, interesting! Ian ZY Kenny stayed over. No girl. So sad. Next time really need girl company. Haha. Played Dota at kembangan. I thought I was going to be bored, but I ended up liking it :D Was super blur in the beginning. Simpang bedok for supper!

I love Kak yo, wheeeee :D It's nice to know certain people remember you even though they are thousands of kilometres away. It was really nice of her to message me.

2006 - year of learning
2006 was a really fruitful year, the year out of my 14 years of existence where I learnt most about myself, life & how. The year which has seen me grow in maturity to handle difficult circumstances. The year which I learned to lead projects which were stressful, but hey, we did well! There were many firsts this year and memories I will hold close to my heart. Beautiful friendships were formed, grew closer to certain people.

It was a year where I learned how to break out of my box, to change my perspectives. I learnt how to serve, how to put others first. I learned how to appreciate my life, seeing how fortunate I really am compared to others.

It has been a year where my faith has been tried and tested, and in the end, I know my God is a faithful God that never fails. Mission trip & being in strings prayer comm was really a turning point where I grew so much, the small sacrifices I made were worth it. And i'd like to thank my wonderful leaders PJ, Joachim, Jeanette, Randolf, Cheryl Tan, Crys, Caroline. You guys have really changed my life.

To all those who have been supporting me, thank you. I liked 2006, and friends, I hope you did too.

2007 -year of love
I want to start 2007 right! (: It's going to be another good year. I want to make a difference in people's lives, I want to make people feel appreciated and loved. I want to treasure those around me, especially my best friend. As I go into VJ, I want to be someone who inspires and cares.

I want to grow in every aspect of my life. In maturity, spiritually, wisdom, sensitivity. I want to know myself better this year. I don't want to look back at the end of this year and say, "Why did I waste 2007?" I want to make full use of every single moment, every single opportunity that comes my way. Carpe diem, seize the day. Change nothing into something. Push the limits of what I'm capable of doing, while enjoying myself. Use this year to bring me closer to my dream.

God will be at the center of it all, because He's the reason for living. I'm going to invest into my ministries. Because I know my efforts will bear fruits. 2007's going to be a challenging, fun, exciting, memorable and meaningful year. Hello 2007, i'm ready :D

TKGS people, I promise I'll come back this week or next to see you all, I miss you!
