My webfolio. Surprise, surprise, I actually started on it. Bah, humbug. Spent the entire day.

I've got so many things to say but no one to talk to, apart from God. Hrmm. Anyway today was good because I caught up with some of MMT'06 (I love them) and other Megalifers. Sam Yuan showed Ivy, Issac and I his psychology textbook, which is super cool and interesting.
I want Threadless tees! Class Chalet was fun, when you minus the drunken stupor of some ACS (I)guys. Food was good but there was too much. Bridget Jones' Diary was horribly and scarily brainless, it caused us to fall asleep by 3am. Woke up at 9am and headed to church at 10-odd.
I'd say publicity on Saturday was great, and today's SuperLife Drama was urmm, okay.

I find an old photograph
and see your smile.
As I feel your presence anew,
I am filled with warmth
and my heart remembers love.
I read an old card
sent many years ago
during a time of turmoil and confusion.
The soothing words written then
still caress my spirit
and bring me peace.
I remember who you used to be
the laughter we shared
and wonder what you have become.
Where are you now,
Where did you go,
When the body is left behind
and the spirit is released to fly?
Perhaps you are the morning bird
singing joyfully at sunrise,
or the butterfly that dances
so carelessly on the breeze
or the rainbow of colors
that brightens a stormy sky
or the fingers of afternoon mist
delicately reaching over the mountains
or the final few rays of the setting sun
lighting up the skies
edging the clouds with a magical glow.
I miss your being
but I feel your presence,
In whatever form you choose to take,
however you now choose to be.
Your spirit has become for me
a guardian angel on high
guiding, advising, and watching over me.

I know you're enjoying yourself with the bestest of the bests so yes, there it is =)

I've got nothing to do until 2.15 pm so I shall just attempt to do some of my work (but it's all at home). Class chalet is tonight at Costa Sands Downtown and so is meeting. This means that I might have to miss the barbeque, but ah well. Yuwei and Tianxing are coming to Megalife on Saturday!
My choice of electives are as follows:
Basic Psychology
or Food Chemistry or Understanding Humanitarian Aid
Nanotechnology
or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Biochemical Analysis
Still don't know what to bid for each though.

Happy Birthday to my favourite (and only) sister Janine! You're thirteen now and you're old. Thank goodness you're not a spoilt brat. You're cool - with all the photography, pixel art and Calvin and Hobbes. I love you!
I want to trade in stocks.

The previous post was my 333rd post. Anyway, I like the life I am living now. Quite busy with commitments but enjoying myself. To those who aren't, well try to? It isn't easy. You could come and talk to me if you want, I'm all ears. I thank God for being so real and apparent. It's nice to see that my life is back on track again. I played with my favourite non-newtonian fluids today - created slime. You can try to do it at home. Mix 1/2 a cup of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water. I even put green food colouring. Slime is cool. My Picture of the day at the left column of the blog is Maisy mouse. Yes, I know it's utterly random.
I still haven't posted the childhood pictures which I promised Timothy (Goh). He looked so cute last time. I still find some friendships amazing. Like this one.
Psalm 27:4 is currently on a post-it note on my computer's desktop. Gaze upon the beauty of the Lord, the one thing I ask. Worship is far more than a song, far more than music, far more than a mishmash of sounds - It's a lifestyle. I don't think everyone understands that, but I hope you do.
Hillsong United's latest EP is well, of Hillsong quality. Never fails to bring forth a message. They're currently onto something big with "I Heart Revolution". Joel Houston's message really struck a chord with me.
"at this moment in history, we are the people in the places.. and we are the ones defining cultures.. and we are the ones creating history.. and so the question must be asked…. If we are the future; how's it gonna look..??
If our generation is remembered for ipods, myspace, and youtube we missed it.. if history speaks of our generation as self indulgent pioneers of the digital age, reality television and purpose built celebrity we'll have failed.. the world will change by itself.. for better or for worse.. it changes daily.. but who will be the ones to shape it.. and how will it look?
.. it's time for a revolution.. fuelled by a dissatisfaction with self-centred living and complacent faith.. driven by a desire for truth, love and justice..
A generation expressing their worship; more so expressing their heart for worship in the action of love.. toward God.. and toward the world we live in.. and the people who inhabit it.. it's not about highlighting the darkness.. it's about becoming the light that diminishes the darkness.. it's the gospel.. and it is now..
we're all in this together.."

So I just got a new Blogger template and fully shifted over to CSS (lovely cascading style sheets) so one of my post-exam agendas has been fulfilled. Do tag and comment whether this template is nicer than the previous one, for I proudly declare that I have shifted to Web 2.0 fully!
This week is Helmsman Week - Financial Literacy. I like the auctions and Praxis game. Getting to know people more, like how nice Lavan actually is and how impure Leonora and Timothy are. My group, courtesy of Lavan, created a scheme to earn lots of money and we spammed it on 10 Ramly burger tokens, a packet of Oreo and a tube of Pringles. It's almost as if we made twenty dollars materialize by trading in a few peanuts. Poor Amanda and Haiyang weren't here to enjoy the fun though. We had an insurance talk today which was rather informative (and contrary to everyone else, I did not get anywhere near to falling asleep) I think there's a talk about retirement planning tomorrow, which I deem ridiculous. Hey, we're only 15!
Anyway, I feel like giving a shoutout to the two people who are part of the 13/43/48 bus clan!
Timo and Wadeeeee! You've been such a joy to take the bus with (hooray) Timoooooo thank you for all the crapiness and iPod videos. Food and Cheese Fries! You've been a joy. So don't be too sad about your circumstances ok? Wadee, thanks for the past 3 years of bus rides. Now I guess bus rides are for catching up. Treasure the time we have in that short twenty-odd minutes man. Pig come earlier in the morning okay! (Btw, you've become more bimbotic!)

Okay so Joshy and I managed to send texts back and forth from Singapore to Perth. I think Joshy has been a real cool friend since I was Primary Five or Six. One of my successful online friendships. We met in Neopets, the irony. So now he's grown up and so have I. But the paths we take are so different, if he were a person in Singapore, I don't even think I might be friends with him. He skates, he just got a tattoo and stuff like that. But he doesn't mess around with funny stuff, thank goodness. Joshy is wonderful as a friend and a funny one at that. I always will remember how he pokes fun at Blondes. How he used to send songs from The Ramones, The Living End and whatnot to me. How we went crazy over Green Day. Our tribute to Christopher Reeve.
All this funny nonsense. Joshyyyyyy Birt!

All the best for your Os. I believe in you =)

I'm plonked on one of the blue chairs at the V block's computer lab with Van next to me. We're waiting till 1320, when we'll get our math marks back. I know mine is a confirmed failure, just to what extent, I don't know. I did horribly for Physics, less than 60. I just scraped through Chinese by 1.25 marks. I thank God that I'm improving in Chinese, that I didn't fail the paper. In tkgs when I was in express Chinese i used to get C6s. So I suppose barely passing here in Higher Chinese is a marked improvement. I don't want to brood over my marks, what's over is over, what's done is done. I just need to work harder, I guess. Maybe, just maybe, I shouldn't have invested so much time in some things or people because it just wasn't worth it. I should focus more on serving God and doing well. My mind's on a riot now because there are things one side wants to say but the other side just shuts that small little voice down. I wish there was a machine to catch the thoughts that I have floating around in my brain and store them before they dissappear.

I had a terrible craving for Sakae Sushi today and hence I asked people to come along with me to have a feast. Turns out it was only me and Yuwei, but hey, we had a good and fun time at that. Our nice little teatime jaunt lasted two hours and thirty minutes. We started at a few minutes off three. We ate like pigs, literally. I had 14 plates of sushi, a bowl of udon noodles, two chocolate mochi ice cream, a plate of watermelon and many glasses of iced water to wash all the scrumptious food down. I still think I'm a champion eater. If I had eaten five more plates, I would have ended up on Parkway's Sushi Challenge board as the third. It's not such a pity that I didn't though. If everyone ate like me Sakae would go bankrupt. Yuwei had 9 plates, so we had a total of 23 plates. The table of 5 guys opposite us finished about 34. Do your variation calculations and you will find that if we were a strength of 5, we would have eaten 57.5 plates. If there were just 5 of me.. 70!
I met Mdm Aisha today and wished her a very fun PSLE marking (Ha-ha!) and she gave me that face. Fun? Nah, I don't think so.
Anyway, so the news is out that almost all our IP heads are leaving. It's rather sad and scary, considering that these three have contributed so much. Every one of them is truly treasured for all the guidance, fun and help they've provided the past few months. Though it's sad to see them go, I believe we don't have a right to own them. I wish them all the best (and know they will impact the places that they're headed towards)
Uploading pictures of Yuwei's unglamness soon. And a confession.. I have been utterly shameless today (just go ask Yuwei how much free food I ate from various places)
This year I have made certain choices, some of which were bad and some of which were good. Choices make you and you make choices. A circular theory, anyone? Anyway some choices are made to protect myself in the form of defense mechanisms. Not saying that these changes have made my life better, or worse. They just make life different. Yup :)
A note to someone: Don't pretend to know things and dig a grave for yourself, it doesn't work that way. Go to talk to whoever like your wonderful family, just not me. Thanks.

An update on my pro chewing gum stance:
On a website which tells you ways to boost your IQ by ten points, point number 24 is as quoted.
"24. Freshen up
Chewing gum improves memory and thinking, UK researchers have found. Chewing raises your heart rate, delivering more oxygen and glucose to the brain, while saliva triggers a surge of insulin, stimulating learning and memory receptors in the brain."
Pity we aren't allowed to buy chewing gum here.

I don't know why, but I am in the mood for a technology blurb. Why?
Firstly, I haven't commented on Apple's new range of products. Well actually, I only want to slam the iPod Touch and iPod nano.
The iPod Touch is a massive loser. I bet people buy it only for the WiFi. It is overpriced - you can get a much larger capacity sized player for a smaller sum of money. The touchpad is terrible. I suppose Apple assumes we humans have tiny fingers. The hype surrounding this player is nothing. I was actually excited about it, but after using Jessie's iPod Touch, I sort of changed my mind. How many songs can you store with 8GB or 16GB anyway? Real music lovers would definitely have more than that. Even I have 10.11 GB of songs now, and that's not even including half of my CD collection.
iPod nano. Who in the world wants to watch videos on a 2 inch screen? You'd be squinting. Also, it comes in a terrible 4GB to 8GB. Which is hardly enough if you want to store movies inside. One movie is about 1GB so just do your math.
On the other hand, I'd like to praise Firefox and Facebook for making my life so enjoyable.

To clear up a common misconception, I'm going to be a nice kid and tell you all about chewing gum.
It dawned upon me that so many people still don't know that it is okay to swallow chewing gum. Yeah, you heard me right. Chewing gum will not take 7 years to digest nor will it stick to your innards with a strength like that of industrial super glue.
That day at CC meeting where Joshua ate the Apple Xylitol gum I bought from Korea, he accidentally swallowed it and was like.. oops I swallowed gum. Thankfully, it wasn't doomsday for him.
This article by Scientific American is one of many that I've read pertaining to this matter. Go check it out. By the way, it also states that although you won't die from swallowing your gum, you shouldn't do it too often.
--xx--
See, I told you my random web surfing was useful (especially for a gum freak like me: I blew 20 bucks in Korea on different types of chewing gum)

I wonder. What happens if I don't ___ ____ anymore?
Anyway yesterday I talked to Yiwen's brother, Yiren who is quite cute because he's so small. They're both kind of alike. Went to Brandon's house on Friday with the rest and played games like Risk (which we did not complete) and watched A Walk To Remember - BORING! The stupid boys were hogging the TV and playing Halo 2. Especially Leslie who sat there goggle-eyed. Rachel, Sheila and I were like: "Guys...(accompanied by a sighing noise)"
Oh yes, my tolerance for short skirts is running low. Please, for goodness sake, cover up your legs girls. It doesn't show much respect for the people around you. Not as if I'm asking you to wear skirts below the knees but, you should know how short is too short.
Just finished reading Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult and I think that book doesn't make sense at all. I'm currently on a book called Absolute Instinct and it's gross. Spine-ripper, anyone? I don't think I'm going to continue reading it, it's not a riveting enough read and it has a smattering of expletives. Wait, correction - a whole lot of those.
The holidays are going to be chock-full with chalets. Class, class cell and whatnot. There's camp too, which I'm very excited for, because there's going to be Youth Alive WA and Ps Dave Reardon. Great people, great music, great messages = great time.
Setting up the booth for registration has been fun the past few days. I'm hoping more people will sign up for camp next week. Megalife Camp 2007, sign up soon!
My utmost for His Highness. Nothing less than my best :)

Inv!gorate was fun, except it leaves an aching Janel in the wake. Each step is a labour to me and my rear hurts when I sit down or get up. I have a nicely coloured radiant red face which I like. It doesn't look burnt but it glows. I think I look better.
Anyway been thinking a lot lately, especially during the exam period. Poverty, Environmental Issues, Life, How and Why, what I've been doing with my life, ministry and all. Sacrifices, friendships. But I don't want to delve into things so deep too fast because my brain can't handle the depths of my thoughts. I'll take everything, a topic at a time.
A shoutout to Rach (Ong): I love you and keep yourself going! You don't have to be a superwoman.
